Dear Friends,
Today was the 25th annual delivery. When we started this, we had no idea where it would go. We pulled into Medical City Children’s Hospital this morning, and the excitement was just as high as it has ever been. Unloading two large vans full of stuffed animals was completed with laughter, hugs, and stories of years past.
Today, we delivered 2,137 wonderful stuffed animals, bringing our twenty-five-year total to 92,771 stuffed friends—each one bringing a giggle and a smile.
As the stuffed animals were being hauled to the hospital’s sorting room for distribution into bins for each nurses' station, ER, PICU, NICU, ambulance, and helicopter, we were invited to visit the 6th floor to see once again the Adam’s Animals painting that was commissioned by the hospital years ago. Some nurses we have known for years came to say hello and introduced us to a new doctor in the group. What could be a very difficult day for us was made warm, friendly, and happy by wonderful people.
Every year, we provided animals for Santa to distribute at the Oncology Holiday Party until 2020 when the party was canceled. We are so pleased that the party is being brought back this year, and Adam’s Animals will provide 165 darling Christmas bears and puppies for the children and siblings in attendance. Cancer is so tough on whole families. This wonderful event is very special.
